News :: New Website Design Up!
With a month of hammering out the CMS into a form I much more preferred including my own flair, I bring you (albeit not 100 percent complete… Yet) the new BladedThoth.com.
With the new version of BladedThoth.com, you may have noticed some of the new areas, most of which are not quite up yet due to lack of content so far. This brings my site more inline with my true goals for the website; A personal stomping grounds for all which I involve in. There is a blog section (Which I have given an option to avoid by RSS if you really want to miss the great content there); an reviews section including my exclusive 15-Minute Reviews as well as room to expand into full reviews when time permits; an articles and tutorials section where I will let known my theories, tips & tricks and more in the future; a blog section for ramblings, comments on sites and more which may not normally fit into the other categories; easier access to the forums for discussing all of my website as well as other discussions (I prefer forums – It is a lot easier to track and manage than comments on every single page, especially when you’re talking dozens of pages a month and in my opinion develops better conversations); as well as an information and downloads section to expand into in the future when I start publishing some of my personal works.
While the site is up, it is still a long ways from completion in my opinion; I do welcome opinions on the forums as well on the site and how it works for you. I already do know that for some reason, out of all the browsers I have broken, I’ve managed Safari, and trying to work on a fix (Difficult considering I don’t have a Mac to do this on.) I may also be swapping the link colors for a more uniform red-tone color as opposed to orange- and red-tones.
You will also notice that most of the articles, news, reviews and blog entries have the ability to rate it on a level from 1-5 stars; I am trying this on a trial basis, but if I find it is not productive, I will likely remove it. You will also find an ‘Add This!’ button on those same pages, allowing you to add the pages to an assortment of social bookmarking websites. While it is only on the content pages, this may migrate to the main page as well if there is enough interest.
The RSS feeds links have changed; The old RSS will still work for a while, but I’d like for everyone to move into one of the two new feeds; A full-featured feed which includes all my blog entries, as well as a lite version which is without the blog entries, giving you an option. There is now also an option to subscribe to these two feeds by email as well. These are easy to use and manage and will work well for those who might not be as savvy on feeds as others.
Feel free to let me know how the site works for you. I look forward to your comments.
